Seminar “WHY CITIES MATTER: Architecture engages the city through a myriad of encounters” on December 12, 2023

KAIST CEE Urban Design Lab(Led by Prof. Young Kim) Seminar “WHY CITIES MATTER: Architecture engages the city through a myriad of encounters" will be held at Applied Engineering Building at KAIST at 11 am on December 12, 2023. Prof. Seung Ra will discuss how to view and study cities in order to gain a broader understanding of the past, present, and future of the city.

Prof. Ra is an architect and professor at Oklahoma State University School of Architecture. Ra holds a Master’s degree from Columbia University and a Bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma State University. His current research and design practice focuses on culture, technology, and progressive approaches to the study of architecture and urbanism as an interdisciplinary discipline.

카이스트 CEE 도시설계연구실(지도교수: 김영철 교수) 세미나 '도시가 중요한 이유: 건축, 무수한 만남을 통해 도시와 만나다'가 오는 12월 12일 오전 11시 카이스트 응용공학동에서 개최됩니다. 라승 교수는 도시의 과거와 현재, 미래를 폭넓게 이해하기 위해 도시를 어떻게 바라보고 연구해야 하는지에 대해 이야기할 예정입니다.

라 교수는 건축가이자 오클라호마 주립대학교 건축대학 교수입니다. 라 교수는 컬럼비아 대학교에서 석사 학위를, 오클라호마 주립대학교에서 학사 학위를 받았습니다. 현재 연구 및 디자인 분야에서 문화, 기술, 학제 간 학문으로서의 건축 및 도시학 연구에 대한 진보적 접근 방식에 중점을 두고 있습니다.
