Future Space Lab

Future Space Lab

Future Space Lab (FSL) is located at  Graduate School of Culture Technology, KAIST, South Korea. Our research interests primarily focus on Future cities, Virtual architecture an d design, Data-driven design, and Human behavior to provide optimal building environments for the users through a convergence approach of cutting edge technologies and space. Our investigations on the aforementioned interests employ the use of IoT Sensors, Artificial Intelligence, VR/AR, and Data Analysis.

Research

Virtual Architecture & Design

  • We are interested in the optimal design of the virtual space for the sake of the future lives of mankind with the advent of Metaverse. We explore the architectural methodology by considering multi-modality, user experience, and human perception & recognition in the virtual environment to enrich human lives in virtual reality through diverse facets such as residential, commercial, work and culture, and entertainment.

Human-Space Interaction

  • We investigate and predict continuously changing urban space and human life patterns by acquiring and analyzing real data through convergence technologies such as IoT sensors, AI, VR, and AR, thereby innovating the design process. We aim to contribute to designing and building human-centered, intelligent cities in a data-driven way.
